Army Leave Centres

Army Leave Centres (ALC) provide holiday homes at popular holiday destinations and have 30 units at 9 locations throughout New Zealand with accommodation available to entitled personnel and groups.

ALC units offer the NZ Army Regular Force and Army permanent Civilian members, eligible Ex-Army Regular Force, ex-Reservists, NZDF employees/NZDF units and associated service organisations (Fire Service, NZ Police and RSA) access to quality holiday accommodation at a moderate cost.


The Government of New Zealand (GONZ) directed COVID-19 alert response moved to alert Level 1 from midnight 8 June 2020. Whilst a reduced alert level enables ALC business as usual operations the situation will continue to be monitored.

The relaxation of previous social and physical distancing rules provides greater freedom to associate and it is understandable if some guests wish to continue to exercise the Level 2 distancing protocols. Whilst not mandatory at Level 1, personal health awareness and an enhanced cleaning regime (on arrival and prior to departure is a responsible thing to do.

Please do not travel if you or your family are unwell. Guests can still bring hand sanitiser products and exercise vigilance when cleaning ALC units especially high touch areas like kitchen benches, door handles, switches, TV remotes, taps and toilet/shower areas.
